Zoo Trip

Tyler has a great Zoo and the kids love it so we try to visit often.  Mason has just about learned where all of the animals are and Madi is always right behind him.
Neither one aware of the bird walk or reptile exhibits yet!!
Monday after work I surprised them both with a trip to the Zoo with Trinity. (She is Mason's other girlfriend that I used to babysit)  The three of them ran and screamed for almost three hours.  We packed a picnic lunch and got to eat and watch the elephants play.

Then the kids got to play in the sand. They have an old truck you can climb into and Mason asked Trinity if she wanted to get in and go for a date!! Of course she said yes and then invited Madi to go along too! (Can't wait to see how this would play out years from now!)
The three of them are so sweet together.

T-Ball

As I mentioned in an earlier post, Mason has moved on from soccer to t-ball.  It is going so much better and we are all so much happier!!  Nick is getting to coach along with 8 other dads and they all have their hands full!  Their team is the Athletics and Mason is #7.

Their first game was on a chilly morning and it could not have been more perfect.  I made our family matching shirts the night before and everyone but Madi loved them.  She screamed all the way across town because I made her wear pants and a t-shirt and she wanted a dress! When we finally got there and she got to visit with everyone her wardrobe was ok.

I had to post them both! The top is typical and this one is uncommon!!

We also had team pictures that morning and knowing a 3year olds attention span I bribed the kids with donuts if they would cooperate before the game.  Once on the field all of the players lined up to say a prayer and the pledge, yes Mason chose to wear his hat that way!!

The game was so much fun to watch, they would go up to bat (hit the ball off the t), then they would attempt to run to first base where we had a dad to pull up their pants and tuck in their shirts (apparently x-small is still a little big for them), once the next kid hit the ball the runners would advance.  Every player got to bat and run all of the bases every time.

Outfield was a bit more challenging.  When the opposing team hit the ball all of our players would run for it, half of them missing it or getting side tracked along the way.  The dads wound up doing most of the work and just putting the ball in a glove!

It was a mess but so much fun.  I think all of the kids had a blast and I am already planning the end of season baseball pool party here!! (I could really get used to being the coaches wife!!)

Madi's Birthday and Party

Its official, we now have two toddlers!! Madi is two and giving Mason a run for his money. She is a talker, runner, climber and a screamer.  She can identify her ABC's and count to 10, throws fits when she doesn't get her way (Something Mason has never done....Seriously!) and she still loves her milk and orange blanket.
For her actual birthday I brought cake pops to her school for her and her classmates then we went out to dinner at Daniel Boones where she loves the beans and ice cream.  I don't think she had any idea it was a special day but she did giggle every time we sang Happy Birthday.

We waited until this past Sunday to have her birthday party.  We invited over friends, family and neighbors and had an ice cream party.  I ordered ice cream parlor hats for the kids to color and decorate with stickers but did not get any pictures of them wearing one!  I had almost 20 different ice cream toppings and various cones and bowls to choose from.

Madi loved the attention and the cake.  She did such a good job opening her presents and telling everyone how much she loved them!  Although she drives us crazy at times, we sure do love her and couldn't imagine our lives without our Madi-moo! Hope you had a great 2nd Birthday Princess.

Warn out and ready for a nap!

Happy Easter

We spent Easter Sunday having a family fun day!! I got up before both kids and set out Easter baskets and 111 eggs, yes I counted.  Thinking they would enjoy getting eggs I put them all out!  Mason wanted to open each egg as he found it and Madi walked around opening eggs and dumping the candy in the yard! I also picked up almost 111 eggs!!  They did have fun and it was worth seeing their smiles and excitment.

We also planted flowers and went swimming. We have lived here for almost 3 years and its the first time we planted anything in the garden.  Madi was good playing in the dirt for a while but then she was ready for a nap.  Mason was our helper the whole time.  He had a bucket and shovel and a pile of dirt!!

Cutest Wedgie Ever!!

Our Happy Helper

Moody Madi Ann was done!

We also went over to Aunt Sarah's for an egg hunt and dinner but I forgot my camera!  Notice Mason's head??? He fell off the wall out back Thursday night.
Nothing like a big boo boo for pictures! Looks painful and he cried for a while but hopefully he learned his lesson and will no longer be walking on the wall!!

Mason's Drama

I am hoping to use this blog as part of Mason and Madi's baby book.  I want to remember all the funny things they say and do while they are growing and changing daily.  Mason took a long time to talk and once he did he never stopped!

Tuesday afternoon we discovered the chance for some severe weather.  Nick and I are both fasinated by storms and love to track them on our phones and TV.  Needless to say Mason is very familiar with the Weather Channel App on my phone.  That night before bed I allowed him to view the storm on my phone, he knows the 'sucker' is where we are and the green is rain.  Well some how thru the night he heard the word tornado and when he saw red and green over our house he freaked.  He got up yelling 'The Tomato, The Tomato is going to hit our house!!"  We had no choice but to laugh and of course snuggle him until the thunder stopped!

Wednesday at Church during MOPS Mason and his girlfriend Kate got into their first fight! Mason and Kate have been boyfriend and girlfriend for a while now and spend a lot of time together.  She is in his class at Mother's Day Out and in our MOPS Group.  After picking them both up and deciding to go to Dairy Queen to play after Church, Allison and I were stopped in our tracks.....  Mason yelled at Kate in the Church hallway that she could not be Rapunzel, she needed to stay Princess Kate.  Kate immediatly responded by calling Mason a street rat.  We had to explain to Mason that Kate just wanted to pretend to become another Princess and explain to Kate that it was not nice to call boys Street Rats (taken from the movie Aladdin)  Allison and I laughed for days about their first lovers quarrel!!

Pre-Easter Fun

Getting ready for the holidays has been a lot of fun with the kids.  We get to go to parties, school functions and bake goodies!  This week Will, Mason's friend from school hosted an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids.
When Mason woke up Monday morning and I told him we were going to hunt eggs he disappeared into his room.....a few minutes later he walked up to me with rain boots and a pop gun and exclaimed he was going to shoot the eggs big!! I guess the word hunt has a whole new meaning at our house!!

Thursday at school Mason's class was involved in an Easter Celebration during Chapel.  They all got to enter the Chapel waiving palm leaves and stayed on stage singing, dancing and praying.  It was a 30 min production and Mason was up front and attentive the whole time.  Nick and I were so proud of our little Bubba Man!

By far one of my favorite pictures!!

Madi got to miss class and snuggle with Lolly to watch Mason too!

These are a few of our Easter crafts and treats too!
